On 12th May, we conducted our first ‘What’s In The Box’ session – a fundraiser panel discussion so as to contribute towards COVID relief work. It was in association with Nirbhau-Nirvair, an initiative by Barkha and Keddhar in collaboration with Mesh Foundation.
The event got an overwhelming response & was attended by 138 listeners. We were able to raise over Rs. 54,000 which will cover nutrition for about 415 frontline health workers and professionals.
Our panel consisted of 4 notable stakeholders from the Director’s A Team – the team that helps a director actualise their vision. We had Zoya Parvin (1st Assistant Director- Sacred Games, Choked, Ghost Stories, Ajeeb Daastaans), Arya Menon (Producer – Sacred Games, Amdavad Ma Famous, I See You, Wade), Udayan Baijal (1st Assistant Director, Producer – Tenet, Zero Dark Thirty, The Dark Knight Rises, Million Dollar Arm) & Shubha Ramachandran (Script Supervisor- A Suitable Boy, Talaash, Dil Dhadakne Do, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag)
The insightful and interactive session went on for 180+ minutes and various topics ranging from the role of the A-team (assistant directors, script supervisors, and producers) to challenges like working within tight schedules and budget were discussed.
