Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya marks the latest Bollywood release in the theaters. Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia star in the lead roles in the movie. The film is directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Shah.
The story of the film revolves around Aryan Agnihotri (Shahid Kapoor) and Sifra (Kriti Sanon). The likes and dislikes of both are very similar to each other, but in other things they are very different. Because Aryan is a human being and Sifra is a robot. Aryan falls in love with Sifra and decides to introduce her to his family to take their relationship forward.
But the twist in the story comes when he comes to know that Sifra is a robot, yet he is unable to stop the emotions growing in his mind. He introduces Sifra to his family without revealing her real identity. But will Aryan’s family come to know that Sifra is a robot? Will they be able to get married? You will get answers to all these questions after watching the film.
Directors Amit Joshi and Aradhana Shah try to make a quite light hearted movie. Its story is quite different, but difficult to find any sense. It has a lot of fun and appropriate jokes, which really make you laugh. He has taken his film to the audience in a very simple and fun way. The story seems a bit nonsensical, but it also has its moments. You understand Aryan’s struggle regarding Sifra. He doesn’t have control over his emotions, so he is doing what a man in love does with his toxic partner, ignoring the truth!
Shahid Kapoor has done a very good job in the role of Aryan. It was quite refreshing to see his fun-loving and romantic avatar. Kriti Sanon is solid in the role of Sifra. It was not easy to become an emotionless robot, but she has played the role very well. The chemistry of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon is amazing in this film. Both of them fit together very well. Even at this stage of his age, Dharmendra Ji’s comic timing is amazing. As long as he is seen on screen, he looks funny. Dimple Kapadia is also impressive in the role of Shahid Kapoor’s aunt and the owner of a robot manufacturing company.
There are many flaws in the direction. The concept of the film is quite refreshing, but it has not been shown properly on screen. The screenplay is also quite scattered. There is a huge lack of continuity. The way the robot Shifra goes to Aryan’s family and learns the way of life there, this entire sequence could have been made more fun. Some scenes have been dragged without any meaning. The film could have easly been shortened by 15-20 minutes.
Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is that type of film in which everything is right. Apart from the story and treatment. As an audience you feel bad for Shahid Kapoor– why do such films come to his credit which he is not able to save even with his good acting and dance performance.
