Zee5 recently unveiled the trailer of director Shanker Raman’s upcoming crime thriller ‘Love Hostel’ starring Sanya Malhotra, Bobby Deol and Vikrant Massey in the lead roles. Set against the background of honour killing it is a story of two people Ashu (Vikrant Massey) and Jyoti (Sanya Malhotra), who are madly in love with each other but their road to love is laden with thorn as they are being chased by a ruthless killer.
The trailer for ‘Love Hostel’ begins with the jolly shots of Sanya Malhotra and Vikrant Massey who have gotten married to each other. They are running away from their family who don’t want them to be together. And in the process, they take help from the police who provide them protection and send them to a safe house, which is most probably being referred to as a love hostel here. While Jyoti calls it ‘Tajmahal’, Ashu calls it ‘Bhoot Bangla’.
As the trailer moves ahead, we get to know that Jyoti’s marriage has already been fixed elsewhere and her family is tense about their honour and reputation in the society as Jyoti has run away with Ashu.
Through the second half of the trailer we are introduced to Dagar (Bobby Deol), an unstoppable force of nature whose only curse is that he can’t fall in love. He has been hired by Jyoti’s family to catch and bring her back alive as they want to see her dying in front of their eyes to feed their ego.
Bobby Deol looks quite intimidating as Dagar right from his entry point with his killer look and attitude, stealing all the limelight in the trailer. It would be an absolute delight for his fans to see him in a never-seen-before avatar. His transformation as a silent killer, Dagar, is applause worthy as he looks scary in that beard look and haryanvi accent sending chills down the spine.
Without giving too much away in the trailer, it manages to give us a gist of what to expect from this upcoming crime thriller. With a lot of movies already being made on the topic of honour killing it’s really exciting to see how ‘Love Hostel’ manages to leave a mark of its own.
The trailer’s official synopsis says, “Set against the pulsating backdrop of rustic North India, Love Hostel traces the volatile journey of a spirited young couple, being hunted by a ruthless mercenary. The star-crossed lovers take on the entire world and then some more in search of their fairytale ending. This is a survival tale in the game of power, money and principles with mayhem and bloodshed.”
Written and directed by Shanker Raman and produced by Gauri Khan, Manish Mundra and Gaurav Verma under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment and Drishyam Films, ‘Love Hostel’ is all set to stream on Zee5 from 25th January, 2022 onwards.
