Anubhav Sinha strikes again with yet another hard hitting movie on a very controversial topic – Article 15. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Isha Talwar, Sayani Gupta etc. the trailer will surely knock your socks off. It follows the lives of police officers in rather backward area still under the evil clutches of casteism and all the gruesomeness it entails. Anubhav Sinha has stuck to his USP of giving the audience something to think about through his movies, and even the trailer excels on that front. Although mere glances are provided, they do an excellent job at building the mood of the film.
Ayushmann Khurrana can be seen in his best, and he certainly shines as thee frustrated police officer in the trailer. Never one for archetypes, he is seen in a very difficult role here and seems to pull it off in the trailer – but we will have to wait for the full movie to give a thorough analysis. The supporting cast seems to be promising as well, with Isha Talwar as the romantic interest.
Based on multiple true events (appalling, I know), the film provides us a glimpse into the perspective of the oppressed. The film, I believe will start a dialogue on the predicament of those in the backward areas, and will definitely break the bubble of the people who believe that India is free from Casteism.
The film releases on 28th June 2019, and it already has me hooked.
