Beginning with the narration by no other than Amitabh Bachchan, the trailer begins to explain why a revenge is intriguing. Why is it that it’s wrong but it’s the right way to move forward?

We get introduced to Taapsee Pannu, who’s entangled in a crime that she says to not have committed, involving the murder of her boyfriend, who had been with her for 3 months. Amitabh Bachchan is a lawyer who steps in to make her life calm again. Claiming to not have lost a single case in 40 years, he asks Taapsee to begin her story, which he will fully believe as the sole truth, ranging from the smallest to the largest details.

She tells him about the time her boyfriend and her go out of station for what seems like a mini getaway, where they fall prey to a blackmailer who finds out about their relationship. Amitabh asks if she really loved this man, to which she says she’s only ever loved her husband and her daughter, hinting us to this maybe being an extra marital affair.

At this vacation, she’s hit on the head and when she wakes up, her boyfriend is lying dead in a pool of money and his own blood. The police arrives and takes her in custody. Amitabh questions why the blackmailer only texts her, how come he/she never takes the money and how he/she even entered a closed house to begin with.

Taapsee pleads not guilty to him. The trailer ends with an image of a car sinking in a lake, could this be a hint at the downfall of Taapsee character? Or could this be another murder?

The trailer holds a certain air of thrill that captures you with stunning cinematography. The ckdrop is based outside India and could be the perfect choice for the kind of crime depicted. The background score makes a point to absorb the viewer within the first 30 seconds of the trailer, making you want to know more.

With the cast of great actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, after Pink, this is a film directed by Sujoy Ghosh which is set to hit the theatres on International Women’s Day, 8th March 2019.

I held onto my seat throughout the trailer, God knows how thrilling it would be on the big screen to watch the perfect crime unravel!
