The most anticipated film, Bob Biswas’, trailer is now out. This film explores the life of Bob Biswas – the villainous character introduced in the 2012 film Kahaani that had been directed by Sujoy Ghosh and starred Vidya Balan. While the original had Saswata Chatterjee playing Bob Biswas, this latest movie has Abhishek Bachchan in the titular role.
‘Bob Biswas’, directed by Diya Ghosh, tells the story of the hitman &, like Kahaani, it is also set in Kolkata. Bob is shown being released from a hospital after a prolonged coma post which he has a compromised memory and doesn’t remember anything from his past life and line of work that is being a killer. He’s shown facing dilemmas & confusions from both ends – family & work life – as he tries to remember his past life & self. But as the trailer plays on, there is a genuine confusion as to whether Bob has really lost his memory or if it is all an elaborate cover up.
We see a ruthless but simple and innocent looking man. He kills people like a regular job and his face doesn’t have a speck of guilt. Bob here is seen being tricked into thinking that whatever he’s been told to do is for the greater good by being told, “Humaara kaam hai achchai aur burai ke balance pe nazar rakhna.”
Bob Biswas was a character who had a very few minutes on screen in 2012’s Kahaani, but his storyline was intriguing enough that it has gotten a full length film dealing with his story.
The film also stars Chitrangada Singh in the role of Bob’s practical wife. The film has been produced by Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Sujoy Ghosh’s Bound Script Production and will stream on Zee5 3rd December onwards.
