Break Point is a seven part web series that has been conceptualised by the celebrated directors – Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari, known for movies such as Dangal, Bareilly Ki Barfi and Chhichhore.
The trailer for Break Point is a quick look into the lives of celebrated Indian tennis players Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes. It promises to show us their partnership both on and off court, their brotherhood and how it went all awry. In a trailer of just over 2 minutes, the audience is invested in exploring the angle of Indian tennis that most have never been aware of previously.
Break Point will spotlight the partnership that put Indian tennis on the global map in the 1990s & on the personal equation of the duo who did so. It’s the first time we will see both Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi be so forthright about what went wrong and led to their professional split. Tennis legends such as Sania Mirza, Bob Bryan, Mike Bryan and the family & friends of the duo are featured in the trailer.
In the trailer, Leander Paes comments, “On the court, we were like poetry in motion. But off the court, we were not getting along really well” which is eye-opening as it shows the audience how there is always more to what you can see. Without giving anything away, we get a glance into both sides of the story. The trailer promises a compelling docudrama to look forward to.
Break Point is set to release on 1st October, 2021 on Zee5. You can catch the trailer here –
