At times, one requires more than just passion to take a leap of faith (Chhalaang).
Montu, a laid-back PT teacher who seldom teaches, is driven to prove himself because “Naukri se pyaar hai, par izzat thodi zyaada pyaari hai”. Neelu who becomes a part of not just the faculty but Montu’s life, instigates Montu to do something with his life. He decides to prove a point to the faculty after the entry of Singh sir in his life, who is the definition of what makes a sports teacher. Montu’s life is turned upside down after his entry because Singh is everything that he’s not and it creates insecurities in a way that pushes him to actually teach as a way of redemption.
With actors like Rao, Nushrat, Saurabh Shukla and Mohammed Zeeshan, Chhalaang easily becomes one of the most anticipated films of the year and is making a release in the festive season.
The take on social comedy using the status of the curriculum of sports in our country appears to be remarkable. The film looks hilarious, blending comedy with inspiration and romance. The film comes from the makers of Sonu Ki Tittu Ki Sweety, Punchnama (series) and De De Pyaar De, which are household names in the genre of light comedy. Set in a town of Uttar Pradesh, in a government school, the ego tussle between two sports teachers makes for an interesting plot.
Directed by Hansal Mehta and written by Luv Ranjan, Aseem Arrora and Zeishan Quadri, Chhalaang releases this Diwali, 13th of November on Amazon Prime Video.
