Straight off the bat, the trailer of Made in Heaven Season 2 promises grander weddings, bigger dilemmas, grayer areas, and rising debts. After four years, Tara (Shobhita Dhulipala) and Karan (Arjun Mathur) return to put together memorable weddings, while their parallel stories form the backdrop of the show.
As the trailer unfolds we’re introduced to Mona Singh’s character of the new chief auditor, a rather stern one at that, at the wedding agency. Karan’s debt of around 23 lakhs looms over his head, and Tara pushes for a divorce on account of Jim Sarbh’s character cheating with Kalki’s character. Kabir (Shashank Arora) navigates a complicated relationship with Jaspreet (Shivani Raghuvanshi), and amidst all this are weddings, that stem from complicated relationships and complicated people, which the show uses as a means to an end, the end being building the characters of Karan and Tara.
The second season also goes into international waters, as the business expands and weddings get bigger. In addition to new faces such as Ishwak Singh and Trinetra, the brides this season will be played by Mrunal Thakur, Radhika Apte, Shibani Dandekar and Sarah Jane Dias. Produced by Excel Media and Entertainment and Tiger Baby, the International Emmy nominated series is directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, Neeraj Ghaywan, Nitya Mehra, Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar.
What remains the USP of the show is how the creators blend common dilemmas, and familiar relationship struggles with the struggle of keeping a business afloat. It’s not about anything but everything, and there’s a symphony to it that is reflective of great skill in carving out a show like this.
Created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, Made in Heaven Season 2 will drop on Prime Video on 10th August. You can watch the trailer here –
