Multiple landscapes & locations ranging from pubs to beaches and stadiums to temples, the trailer of Shiddat tells the tale of an extremely persistent man wooing a girl who is already engaged to someone else.

Sunny Kaushal plays Jaggi to Radhika Madan’s Kartika, two star crossed lovers who are bounced off different situations and face various curveballs as they come to realise that going for love against all odds is their only fate. A drowning Jaggi is saved by Kartika and considers the CPR performed by her to save him as a kiss instead, something that does not seem to amuse her.

However soon they become friends with Jaggi making it absolutely clear that he loves Kartika, even though she is getting ready to marry someone else. Kartika on her part admits that that not every marriage is based on love while a VO by a character, most likely Jaggi, calls her bluff and states that if she believes so, she has clearly not been in true, passionate love. And thus begins their journey – from a no strings attached affair before they both get married to other people to clearly a passionate love story filled with ups & downs, laughter & tears. From journeys across the world to standing against everyone, the film seeks to tell the story about the “power of love”. Shiddat also stars Mohit Raina & Diana Penty as a much in love couple who seem to have realised the perils of life & the challenges it throws at the strongest of bonds and have become hardened along the way.

While intriguing, the trailer does have elements that seem familiar to other movies. The film has been shot in Mumbai, London, Paris and Glasgow, and was originally scheduled to be released in September of last year but got delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The film has been directed by Kunal Deshmukh and jointly produced by Dinesh Vijan, Bhushan Kumar and Firuzi Khan.

Shiddat will begin streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 1st October. You can catch the trailer here –
