Manoj Bajpayee starrer “Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai”, is a ZEE5 original film directed by Apoorv Singh Karki and written by Deepak Kingrani. It is a gripping tale inspired by true events.
The story revolves around an ordinary lawyer who embarks on an extraordinary journey as he takes on a powerful self-proclaimed godman accused of sexually assaulting a minor. The brief synopsis of the film raises the crucial question of whether the lawyer will succeed in winning the case and bringing justice to the victim. The case he fights is against a godman who is charged for the rape case of a 16-year-old girl under the POSCO Act.
The trailer begins with a dialogue from Manoj Bajpayee, where he mentions, “Throughout my career, I have fought numerous cases where I have witnessed witnesses retracting their statements inside the courtroom.” In another scene, he states, “In several instances, the Supreme Court’s judgments have revealed that the victim’s statement is acknowledged as evidence only if she manages to convince the court of its truthfulness.”
The trailer features glimpses of honor killings, such as acid attacks and road accidents, which imply the film’s focus on communal politics and the detrimental impact that false godmen can have on our society. The fast-paced and suspenseful background score, accompanying the chase scenes, aims to provide the audience with a thrilling and adventurous experience momentarily.
It’s worth noting that Manoj Bajpayee, who stars in the lead role, plays a lawyer for the first time in his career of over 28 years.
Bajpayee previously appeared in the Disney Plus Hotstar film ‘Gulmohar’, where he shared the screen with veteran actor Sharmila Tagore. Furthermore, Bajpayee has two other projects lined-up, namely ‘Despatch’ and ‘Joram.’
