We’re all aware of the event that took down in Uri a few years back. India’s first ever surgical strike as a revenge for the loss of our good men.
The film industry has taken a step into creating this incident cinematographically. Uri: The Surgical Strike stars Vicky Kaushal, a new age actor and Paresh Rawal alongside Yami Gautam.
The trailer suggests the heroic stand that Vicky’s character takes to initiate this surgical strike. It is unlikely for Bollywood to cover controversial topics as such but since a few years now, this industry has become a bold one. Not being afraid of putting out the truth and honestly speaking, it’s completely for the better. The action montage scenes are a masterpiece to look at. The VFX and graphics that show bomb blasts and gun firing have surpassed our expectations for a war film in Bollywood. Vicky Kaushal shows how firm his character is and so does Yami Gautam’s. It is a fight for justice and it’s definitely set to wash the audience over with feelings of patriotism by the end of the film.
Set to release in January 2019, Uri will strike us with the events that took place to convey what exactly went down. It is a tribute to our brave souls that protect us day and night at the border.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, this would be his first ever movie under the production of Ronnie Screwvala. I feel excited to watch this as I was a part of this historical event that took place and to watch it unravel in its true sense would feel amazing, as well as getting to witness the potential of Aditya Dhar as a director would be an experience on it’s own.
