The trailer of Netflix’s much awaited thriller ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein’ starring Tahir Raj Bhasin, Shweta Tripathi and Anchal Singh was released just recently.
The trailer begins with a dialogue “Teen cheezin insaan ko barbaad kar sakti hain paisa, taakat, aur…” and precisely at this point we get a glimpse of Anchal Singh coming out of a swimming pool. From the looks of the trailer the series appears to be a love triangle between the three leads packed with a lot of action and romance. Vikrant (Tahir Raj Bhasin) and Shikha (Shweta Tripathi) are a couple happily in love but a storm comes when Purva (Anchal Singh), who’s the daughter of Akhiraj Awasthi, the don and politician of that area comes between them. Vikrant becomes an object of desire for Purva and she could go to any extent just to get him. As her father says, “Tum Purva ki trophy ho aur jeetegi toh woh hi”. In order to get out of Purva’s trap and go back to his love Shikha, Vikrant joins a dark path only to regret it later. We see a lot of action in the later part of the trailer with people getting shot, crying and running here and there for their lives.
Tahir Raj Bhasin, who was last seen in 83 as Sunil Gavaskar, looks really promising in the trailer. It is his first project as a lead and honestly it feels so good to see him getting his due.
Anchal Singh as a psychotic woman is quite impressive and you can surely count on her as a reason to watch this series. The show also stars Saurabh Shukla, Surya Sharma, Brijendra Kala, Arunoday Singh, Anant Joshi, Sunita Rajwar and Hetal Gada among others.
The other thing which manages to grasp your attention are the dialogues.
“Zindagi imtehaan le rahi thi lekin jiske bhai baap ke paas bum, katta aur bandook ho usse hawai chappal se kaise lada jaye” – is my favourite pick from the trailer. Besides that, the superhit song Ye Kaali Kaali Ankhein from Shah Rukh’s Baazigar plays continuously throughout the trailer which has been tuned to make it sound like doom’s day is approaching.
With just its trailer, ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein’, looks like an amazing series to watch out for and if not for anything at least Tahir Raj Bhasin’s performance. The only thing which might not go in its favour is that the trailer reveals a lot too much in those 2 minutes 28 seconds.
The trailer’s official synopsis reads, “She desires him. But he’s madly in love with someone else. Whose love will triumph in the end?” Produced by Edgestorm Venturers Pvt Ltd ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein’ is created and directed by Siddharth Sengupta, who’s popular for creating television shows like Balika Vadhu and the series Apharan.
‘Ye Kaali Kaali Ankhein’ will start streaming on Netflix from January 14 onwards.
