Zee5 has released the trailer for its new upcoming series ‘Mithya’ starring Huma Qureshi and Avantika Dassani in the lead roles. Avantika Dassani, who’s the daughter of one of the famous actresses of the 90’s, Bhagyashree, is making her debut in the industry through, ‘Mithya’ which is a hindi adaptation of the 2019 British series ‘Cheat’.

Going by the trailer, ‘Mithya’ looks like a psychological warfare focussing around two women – Huma Qureshi and Avantika Dassani, who get into a conflict. The story is set in Darjeeling where Huma will be seen essaying the role of a Hindi Literature university professor, Juhi Adhikari and Dassani as her student, Rhea Rajguru.

The trailer opens with Juhi announcing a topic for an assignment, that is ‘Tathya, Satya and Kathya’. She accuses Rhea of plagiarism, who belongs to a reputed family and soon the two lock horns and we get to know there’s so much more in between them than just academic conflict.

Where Juhi wants her to get suspended for cheating, Rhea says she’s taking revenge from her because of a personal matter. We also get a glimpse of Juhi’s troubled relationship with her husband of which Rhea tries to take advantage of.

With both the ladies not ready to back down in this battle of truth and lies, a murder takes place and brings both of them under the radar of suspicion leaving us all curious and guessing of what may happen next.

Huma Qureshi who’s known for giving power packed performances looks really promising in this one. Besides this, we’ll also get to see Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Rajit Kapoor, Indraneel Sengupta and Samir Soni in pivotal roles in the web series.

The trailer’s official synopsis reads, “A tale of two women who are at odds with each other over allegations of plagiarism, which sparks a series of hostilities and shocking revelations spun around a murder for which they both are suspects.”

Directed by one of the most celebrated filmmakers of Hindi Cinema, Rohan Sippy and produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Rose Audio Visual Production, this six episode long series will be streaming on Zee5 from 18th February onwards.
