The trailer for House Of Gucci has not only arrived in style but also looks full of potential with a magnetic cast and crew. Based on the book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden, Ridley Scott’s upcoming film has been long awaited.
This crime drama revolves around the murder of the heir to the Gucci fashion house – Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver) by his ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga) around a year after the former sold Gucci. Patrizia was convicted for his murder and sent to prison for 18 years where she was nicknamed ‘Black Widow.’ Seeing Adam Driver and Lady Gaga play such complex and interesting characters is going to be a compelling watch for all.
With real life events as the backbone of the film, we see how one name can be synonymous with not only style, fashion, power and luxury but also with betrayal, vanity and murder. The trailer leaves one in a trance as we see the crème de la crème transform themselves into characters from the Gucci family. The hallucinogenic soundtrack – Blondie’s ‘Heart of Glass’ – extravagant coats, and mind blowing acting have one waiting with bated breath for the final product!
The ensemble cast of veteran actors includes Jared Leto, Al Pacino, Salma Hayek and Jeremy Irons. A glimpse into the trailer and we see Jared Leto’s chameleon-like transformation into Paulo Gucci where he is completely unrecognisable. The trailer shows large family gatherings, Gucci’s fashion shows in the 80’s, and some iconic dialogues by Lady Gaga such as “I don’t consider myself to be a particularly ethical person, But I am fair.”
