It is extremely refreshing and homely to watch Kajol back on the screen, playing the role of a crazy fun mother. The trailer leaves you with a bunch of emotions, it gets you happy, makes you laugh, gets you upset, makes you want to go through the screen and give Kajol a big hug. Kajol as an actress never makes you realise that she’s an actress playing a character, it always just appears as if the character is the only one on the screen, embodied in the external look of Kajol.

Helicopter Eela is based on Eela (Kajol) who is an aspiring playback singer and a single mother to her only son, Vivan (Riddhi Sen). Being a single mother can be really tough and to do full justice to it, she has given up all her dreams and aspirations to be a mother. Time has passed and Vivan is all grown up and a typical young millennial who doesn’t want his mother’s life to revolve around him. But being an overprotective mother, Eela has other ideas and joins her son’s college to spend more time with him and to understand him better. Unfortunately her plans backfire and she suffers a backlash from Vivan for invading his privacy.

This film revolves around the present generation and the concept of parenting. It talks about how parenting in this age and day has to change with the changing times. It seems like a lovely, fun-light film to watch with the company of your parents to better understand their views or the kids to better understand the parents’ thought process.

Coming to theatres this September, the Sparrow is ready to nest in and watch this film in all its glory and fun!
